Thank you for your interest in volunteering or interning with HATCH. Volunteers are an important part of life at the HATCH. It is an exceptional environment to learn new skills; assist with other creative and an opportunity meet others with similar interests and talents. We appreciate your time and the support to further grow our creative hub.


Opening Receptions
Each month HATCH hosts a special member exhibition with a public and artists’ opens reception. Volunteers are needed to greet guests, collect contact information, prepare food, provide studio tours and help clean up. Hours and days vary.

Exhibition Installation
When HATCH installs a new exhibition, volunteers are needed to paint walls, measure and handle photographs, hang images and place labels. Hours and days vary.

Photographers Assistant
HATCH is home to a variety of talented artists, photographers, and videographers. At times our members request lighting assistants, models, and other help with setting up the perfect shot.

Workshop Assistant
HATCH frequently provides courses and workshops to its members. In certain circumstances, our talented workshop instructors need assistance setting up chairs and tables, preparing digital equipment for presentations, putting equipment away, and assisting students. Hours and days vary.

HATCH Street Team
With numerous ongoing exhibitions, educational programs, and events, HATCH needs energetic and professional volunteers with strong communications skills to assist in promoting the events through collateral distribution, social media, and community outreach projects.

Benefits & Expectations of Volunteers and Interns at HATCH

HATCH is looking for interns to work at the creative hub.

Scheduling is flexible but candidates should be ready to commit 8-10 hours or more per week. The internship is unpaid. However, those accepted may be able to receive college credit, time in the studios or audit classes.

Candidates should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, have a strong interest in photography, good communications skills, and a positive attitude.

Candidates should be able and willing to help in any or all of the following areas:

  • Special Events preparation, including painting walls, hanging work, making labels, cleaning, setting up tables, chairs and presentation equipment, etc.
  • Social networking on Facebook and Twitter
  • Customer service and assisting with administrative tasks like class preparation, filing, etc.
  • Community building
  • The ability to be flexible as this is a growing business with a variety of duties.
